Spring time :)

I went out on March 22  and observed my phenology site by Pioneer Creek.  The water level has continued to drop.  It could be because of the liter in the creek or because we have not had a lot of rain fall yet this year. The grass is getting a lot greener and the bugs and other animals are starting to come out.  The trees in my site are doing really well.  There leaves have not started to grow back yet but I'm sure they will soon.  The weather was about 70 degrees and it was sunny with a slight breeze.  It is definitely starting to feel like spring. :)

  1. Thanks for the post Rachel. I would really like more details about your observations... make what you are seeing come to life for us... Is there really so much liter that it is reducing stream flow/levels... if so, describe it for us. What other "bugs and animals" are you seeing? Where are you noticing them? If your tree (what kind is it?) doesn't have any buds forming yet at all, then that's worth comparing to the trees around it.

  2. Doesn't that trash just make you mad? It's really sad that people can"t pick up rehire garbage. I like the fact that you mentioned that.
