Intro. to Phenology

Phenology has really taught me a lot about our environment.  You really have to look closely at your surroundings to find out what's happening and how it's changing.  This is a picture of one of the trees in my site.  It has changed a lot over the first semester.  It started out with all of its leaves in the fall but now it is barren from winter.  I have really enjoyed observing my site and have learned a lot about it.  It really is nice to get out in nature and have it teach you a thing or two about the changes it goes through.  I'm really excited to see what happens this semester with my site.

  1. I like the inclusion of a photo, Rachel.

I would like more details about your observations from first semester. Your goal as a blog contributor should be to let your readers know about something unique/insightful/amazing about the things you observe in your location.

For example, most of the folks reading this blog already understand that a deciduous tree will lose its leaves in fall, but perhaps they don't know what kind of tree this is, how long it took for it to lose its leaves compared to other species in the park, etc. Please be sure that you're posts indicate the depth and level at which you are making field observations!
